La France Insoumise (LFI or FI, litterally "France Unbowed") is the left-wing populist political party launched in 2016 by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, former co-president of the Parti de Gauche.

The party uses the lower case Greek letter phi (FI) as its logotype.
It recalls the name of the party, the birth of Athenian democracy,
harmony, the golden ratio and intends to evoke hope in a Sixth
Republic (an upturned 6) or someone raising his fist.
The flag is usually simply blue and red with the emblem and the party name (photo, 2021).
